Beneath the Boarder
I’m back in Melbourne right now and recently a couple of local girls got in touch with me about a documentary they are preparing to make this winter in Gulmarg, India. Beneath The Boarder tells the story of a 16-year old Kashmiri boy, Raja Khan, who is trying to pursue his dream of becoming a pro snowboarder. Living in a poverty stricken village with limited education and constant suppression by the Indian army, his chances are small.

The girls would like to help Raja obtain a passport and see him professionally trained, which is virtually impossible for Kashmiri people.
The girls said they can’t make the doco alone and they need help from everyone in the snow community.
So here’s a few ways to help out:

MBS Big Air Demo Team in action!!
I attended the Colorado Ski & Snowboard Expo on Saturday November 5th at the Colorado Convention Center in downtown Denver. This is a two and a half day show that features the latest happenings with Rocky Mountain Area resorts, travel companies, and equipment retailers. Everyone I spoke with was excited for a great ski and snowboard season. The MBS Big Air Demo Team brought the excitement of mountainboarding (long boards with big rubber wheels) out of the mountains and into the city. They put on a great show!

The Summit Stage
It was a sunny day here in Summit County, Colorado so I decided to take a trip on the Summit Stage from Frisco to see what's going on at Copper Mountain. The Summit Stage is the FREE bus that links several towns (Breckenridge, Frisco, Silverthorne, Dillon, and Leadville), Ski Resorts (Copper Mountain, Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, and Breckenridge), shopping centers, and medical centers in Summit County. The bus is very reliable and it's FREE! You can also carry your ski and snowboard gear on the bus with you.
Copper was bustling with activity when I arrived. New shuttle bus drivers were practicing their routes. Shop keepers were busy stocking shelves with the latest gear. Ski Patrol was setting up fencing and signs. Lift operators were testing the American Eagle lift. And the snowcats were very busy moving snow around for opening day tomorrow! Copper looks much different compared with two weeks ago. The hill is reasonably well covered with snow now and will only get better in the coming weeks. Bring it on!!!
