Robyn getting psyched for the jump!
It's hard to believe but we are already at the end of the 3rd week on our Queenstown, NZ instructor training courses. For some of our students it also marks the half way point of their journey as they will be leaving us after their Level One exam which starts in just 2 weeks. The training so far has seen some amazing improvements and everyone looks well on track to become a qualified instructor in no time!
As well as great skiing and riding the team have also been enjoying themselves off the snow. The first week saw us doing some "team bonding" when everyone jumped off Queenstown's famous Kawarau Bridge with just a thin cable of bungy cord attached to their legs. Everyone showed great courage but we were surprised to see that the army boys took the most convincing to take the leap of faith! The social activities in the last 2 weeks weren't quite as scary but definitely a lot of fun, and we soon found out who has the competitive streaks. Who would have thought ten pin bowling and mini-golf could be taken so seriously??!! We've also had a great night out at the Ice Bar and a really informative evening at R&R Sports learning all about our ski/snowboard gear and how to maintain and tune it.
You're never short of things to do in Queenstown or on our courses, and there's plenty more in store. As well as our usual weekly social activities we've also got the back-country course coming up. Run by New Zealand's Mountain Safety Council, this course highlights safety in the back-country and is always a great day of hiking in the beautiful Southern Alps.
